Spelt is a valuable grain of very ancient origin, resistant to disease and pest infestation that allows it to be grown without using fertilizers and pesticides. Spelt is an ancestor of common wheat and is stone milled from which we obtain whole-wheat spelt flour.

Spelt flour properties
It possesses a high nutritional value in fact it is rich in protein (about 14%), vitamins A, B, C, E, mineral salts, calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, polyunsaturated fatty acids, iron, manganese and indissoluble fibers that promote the regular work of the intestine, whole spelt flour is a complete and essential product for the Mediterranean diet.

Wholemeal Spelt flour

Recommended for:
Short raising bread either with sourdough or dry yeast, soft cakes, shortcrust pies and biscuits. Great also for pizza.
